The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George is applying for a grant to put an end to lakeshore erosion at Ness Lake.
The Regional District is applying for $12,500 from Western Economic Diversification.
Spokeswoman Renee McCloskey says the money would be used to formulate a plan for mitigating the damage.
"We would be looking to have a professional engineer or consultant come and assess the situation and then just advise how best to provide mitigation work for that site."
McCloskey says the erosion is partly due to removing plants and over-steepening of the grade leading to the lake edge.
It is estimated the project will cost $25,000, with half the money coming out of the parks budget.
