Rising water levels along the Stuart River and in Stuart Lake have led the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako to issue a flood alert.
Residents living along the lake and river are asked to take necessary precautions to protect their properties.
There is also a risk of septic systems failing resulting in potential contamination of ground source drinking water.
Sandbags are available for those living in low-lying areas.
