The Sporting activities Ministry on Thursday asked Hockey India, President Mohammad Mushtaque Ahmed, to step down from his write-up adhering to which he handed in his resignation. The Athletics Ministry declared his election in 2018 a violation of the 2011 National Sporting activities Development Code.
Gyanendra Ningombam will now be taking above Hockey India as the officiating President, Hockey India introduced on Friday.

The Hockey India President Mohammad Mushtaque Ahmed resigned as president on Thursday immediately after becoming asked to ‘demit’ his position by the Sporting activities Ministry.
In a letter signed by Raju Bagga below-secretary, it was claimed, “it has been noticed that Md Mustaque Ahmed experienced before served as Treasurer in Hockey India (Hello) from 2010-2014 and Secretary-Typical from 2014-18. The fast term 2018-22 of Md Mustaque Ahmed as President of Hello, is his 3rd consecutive term as an office environment-bearer in Hi. Thus his election as President of Hi is not in consonance with the Government rules restricting the age & tenure of workplace bearers of Nationwide Sports Federations.”
Mushtaque Ahmed was to be in tenure till September 2022. Elections for the article of President are to be conducted by 30th September this year and a new president elected will keep in the placement right up until the finish of the tenure in September 2022.
Hockey India announced on Friday in the Board Assembly it was made a decision that Manipur’s Gyanendra Ningombam will be standing in as the officiating president. Hockey India claimed, “Ningombam has for many yrs been affiliated with Manipur Hockey and has been instrumental in supporting talented players and the enhancement of the sport at the grassroots degree.” The assertion adds, “The Hockey India Govt Board expressed gratitude to Mohd. Mushtaque Ahmad for his dedication shown toward the enhancement of the sport.”
