Two teenagers from the Northwest Territories have just wrapped up a five week exchange to Vanderhoof.  The teens came to Vanderhoof through Northern Youth Abroad, a program that gives travel and skill development to youth in Nunavut and the Northwest Territories.  Participant Cole Loutit says there's many noticable differences between Vanderhoof and his hometown of Hay River.

"There's more popular restaurants in Vanderhoof than in my hometown like A&W and Tim Hortons," says Loutit, "and the neighbourhood is really friendly, you basically know everyone and you know that everyone is friendly."

Loutit says he spent his five weeks in Vanderhoof with a host family and working at the Community History Museum.  He says he went through the program Northern Youth Abroad to travel to a new destination and gain high school credits.
