People in Prince George have just under a month now to register themselves and their four-legged friends for the annual BC SPCA Paws For A Cause walk.

Sarah Thompson with the SPCA says it's one of their biggest fundraisers for the shelter.

"It is our flagship primary fundraising event. All the funds raised stay in the city they're raised in, and all of it goes to benefit the animals in the shelter. Our goal for Prince George is 30 thousand."

Thompson says last year 24 thousand dollars was raised in Prince George.

Participants can register now online, at the animal shelter, in a Scotiabank, pet store, or at a vet.

The walk is an afternoon long event with entertainment and activities, taking place on September 9th at Cottonwood Island Park.
