Prince George, B.C.
The New Democrat Forest Committee is in Prince George today to meet with local industry and unions.
Forestry Critic Norm Macdonald says he, Harry Lali, and Claire Trevena have a number of meetings scheduled.
"We're going to be touring the Northwood Pulp Mill, we'll be meeting with Steelworkers, the CEP, we'll also be meeting with some local government people and we're also going to tour the Prince George Sawmill."
Macdonald says the goal is to get feedback on forestry policies the NDP will propose prior to the next election.
He says the Liberal forest policy has failed, leading to the decline of the industry that was an economic driver for Prince George.
The stop is part of a cross-province tour that has already passed through Vancouver Island and the Fraser Valley.
