The Province has reached an agreement with the Nak'azdli First Nation surrounding the Mt. Milligan Mine.
A main benefit the Nak'azdli will receive as a result of the agreement is a share of the mineral tax on the mine.
Jobs Minister, Pat Bell, says the First Nation stands to gain significant revenues over the life of the mine.
"This negotiation has been long-term. It will result in approximately $24-million worth of revenue-sharing over the life of the mine. That's expected to be a 20 year plus mine life."
A similar revenue-sharing agreement was signed in August 2010 with the McLeod Lake Indian Band.
Bell says having agreements in place with both First Nations ensures stability for the Mt. Milligan mine.
