A working group in Vanderhoof is looking at how to improve post secondary education in the area.  Last year the working group was formed to pin point key areas where post secondary education is required or needs improvement.  Group Chair Gary Blattner says a focus group has now formed to facilitate the process.

"I suspect that we'll need to look at trades obviously, but not only that but also university transfer, and or distance education," says Blattner, "a variety of things perhaps in social services."

Blattner says the working group is looking at how the economy is changing in Vanderhoof.  Currently there is only one post secondary institution in Vanderhoof, that being the College of New Caledonia.
