Former Beetle Boss to Lead Burns Lake Recovery Efforts

Burns Lake, B.C.

A forest industry veteran has been recruited to help the community of Burns Lake bounce back after last Friday's explosion at Babine Forest Products Mill.

Minister of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation Pat Bell says Bob Clark, Vice President of forestry consultants JB Clark and Company, is an excellent choice to lead the provincial government's on the ground response efforts.

"He was the beetle boss for the province. In his role, he developed many contacts in Victoria with deputy ministers, assistant deputy ministers, from various ministries that will enable him to have that sort of connection he'll need to move forward on these files."

Bell says Clark's appointment was announced after a meeting with municipal, First Nations and union leaders in Burns Lake today. Clark will work out of Burns Lake and starts on Monday.
