Prince George, B.C.
--A big blow for the Prince George Cougars. Acccording
to Sportti.com, the Cougars first pick, 5th overall, in the
2012 CHL import draft, has come to terms to play for a
team in Helsinski. 18-year old goalie Joonas Korpisalo
signed a two-year contract with Jokerit of the Finnish
League, which means in all likelihood, he will not be
coming to P.G. to suit up for the Cats.
The six-foot-two, 172 pound Korpisalo was a third round
selection (62nd overall) of the Columbus Blue Jackets
in this year's NHL Entry Draft.
He represented Finland at the 2011 World Under-18
Championship where he posted a 3.02 goals against
average and a .902 save percentage in six games.
