Baseball title to Langley

--The Langley Blaze earned top honors at the
Bid Group Provincial Senior Men's Baseball
Championship at Citizen Field to qualify for
the 2013 Nationals in Windsor, Ontario.
Langley crushed the Kamloops Sun Devils
6-1 in the final.
Earlier, The Blaze outscored Nanaimo 4-1 in
the semi.
Langley began its playoff run with a 6-3 victory
over the host Prince George Grays. The Grays
were one of five teams in the eight team
tournament to advance to the playoffs and
finished with an overall 2-2 record.
Prince George lost its first game 10-5 to
Kamloops before winning its final round robin
games; 4-3 over Burnaby and 7-5 over defending
champion Victoria.
--The Tournament MVP award went to Scott Webster
of Langley, who smashed three homers and drove in
five runs.
Darren Kolk of Nanaimo was the Top Batter with a
.533 average.
The Top Pitcher Award went to Kellen Jones of Trail,
who won two games & struck out 14 in 12 1/3 innings.
