Khaira waiting for draft

--The first round of the NHL Entry Draft will be
held Friday in Pittsburgh with rounds 2 to 7
scheduled for Saturday.
The Edmonton Oilers have the first pick for
the third straight year and are expected to select
18-year old Russian winger Nail Yakupov of the
Sarnia Sting.
Columbus picks second, Montreal third, the NY
Islanders 4th and Toronto 5th. Winnipeg goes ninth,
Calgary 14th, Ottawa 15th and Vancouver 26th.
--Jujhar Khaira, who played this season with the
Prince George Spruce Kings, is listed as 74th
among North American skaters.
Paul De Jersey, who led the BCHL in scoring as a
member of the Spruce Kings, is rated 98th.
Troy Bourke of the Prince George Cougars is ranked
123rd.
(Khaira and De Jersey will be playing in the college
ranks next season while Bourke will likely be back
with the Cougars)
