Mackenzie, B.C.
A woman who grew up in Northern BC is on her way to London to take part in the 2012 Olympics.
Leah Callahan lived in Mackenzie from ages four to 18 and is thrilled to represent Canada as a wrestler.
She says she has spent the last year preparing physically and mentally and is battling final doubts and fears.
"It's actually been sort of the support of my hometown and Newfoundland, which is where I was born," says Callahan. "A lot of people have reached out in the past week just to tell me, no matter what happens, they're just so proud of me and just like so many encouraging messages."
A Facebook group created in support of Callahan has reached nearly nine-hundred members.
Callahan will arrive in London tomorrow with fellow wrestler Carol Huynh who grew up in Hazelton, BC.
