NewsHome Prices Continue to Rise in North
Home sales in the North continue to outpace the rest of the province. Last month saw a 5.3% increase in average price and a 14%rise in the number of total units sold compared to July last year. BC Real Estate Association Chief Economist Cameron Muir says it's yet another good indication of the economy throughout Northern B.C. "Prices are going at a fairly healthy clip of about five percent a year growth which is above the rate of inflation, and overall market conditions remain quite strong," said Muir. Only Kamloops boasted a higher average price increase year over year last month than Prince George while the provincial average price fell over 12%. The average sale price last month for a Northern B.C. home rose to $238,000 from $226,000 in July 2011. Most Viewed Stories
