More and more visuals will be seen downtown to promote the 2015 Canada Winter Games.

City council has approved the change of a sign bylaw to allow the Games Host Society to have a banner longer than 30 days, and to have more than one per year.

Communications Director Mike Davis says they will soon have banners to be apart of everything they're doing to their building on Quebec Street.

"We started that process by painting the entire side of the building red, we have a 24-foot mural and this is the final piece - installing six 10-foot banners with messaging. We just think it's gonna add to the decor of downtown, and really set a precedent as to where we are and what we want to do here."

Davis says they have about 25 hundred volunteers right now, and need 5 thousand, so the banners will help attract people to the building.
