NewsPassing Lane to be Constructed on Highway 27
A new passing lane is to be constructed on Highway 27 as the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has put a call out for tenders for the project. The area is 20km south of Fort St. James, and will be on the west side of the highway starting just north of Cook Road and continuing for 3.8km. Nechako Lakes MLA John Rustad says this will help the flow of traffic on that highway. "The traffic on Highway 27 has increased significantly over the years with all of the resource activity and the new mine going in north of Fort St. James, as well as all the harvesting of our timber due to the Pine Beetle." The tender closes August 30th, and work is to start in late September. It should be complete by August of next year. Most Viewed Stories
