NewsSally Ann Accepting Extra School Supplies for Needy Families
The Prince George Salvation Army is encouraging parents to pick-up extra supplies during back-to-school shopping. Spokesman Neil Wilkinson says the Salvation Army is currently collecting donations for families in need. "The items that we're looking for are actually on the checklist of each school," says Wilkinson, "and they vary slightly from school to school and what we try to do is collect as many things as we possibly can from those checklists." Items in high demand include pens, pencils, duotangs, erasers, binders, calculators, lined paper and rulers. Donations can be dropped at the Salvation Army on Ospika Boulevard before the school year begins. People in need are encouraged to call the Salvation Army and speak to the Family Services Department.
