NewsRobson Valley Getting New Firefighting Facility in Valemount
A new firefighting facility is coming to Valemount. Construction on the two-storey structure begins this week and will cost $1.2 million dollars to build. Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resources Steve Thomson says it will be the new office for the Robson Valley Fire Zone. "So it will have the initial attack base, operations station, staff offices," says Thomson, "work stations for seasonal staff, breifing room, frie crew facilities and storage area." Thomson says the new firefighting facility will also be a permanent building for the Valemount Firefighting Services. He says the new facility will be operational for the 2013 fire season.
