UNBC Farmers Market Kicks Off
Today marks the second annual kickoff for the UNBC Farmers Market.
Live music, vendors of all sorts, and games and prizes will be featured all day in front of the NUSC building.
In addition to providing wares and local food all year long, University Farmers Market committee chair and associate professor Scott Green says it is also about getting the entire city involved and educating about local food issues.
"One of the main goals of the project is really to do a better job of connecting with the community. I know that we're up there on the hill and sometimes that creates a barrier, so we're going to have stuff going on all day," said Green.
The UFM makes an appearance on campus every Tuesday throughout the year working in partnership with the Prince George Farmers Market.
