School District 57 has noticed a small decline in the number of alcohol related incidents at schools.

Last school year the district saw 30 alcohol related incidents, which is down by one incident from the 2010-2011 school year.

Superintendent Brian Pepper says there is a clear code of conduct when it comes to drugs and alcohol in schools.

"We trust that students will be coming to school not under the influence of a drug or alcohol. At the same time extra curricular athletics, extra curricular events of any type, again the same kind of expectations are in place."

Pepper says at the start of the school year, principals outline the expectations and code of conduct when it comes to alcohol.

He says if a student is found under the influence of alcohol, the student's parents and the Student Conduct Review Committee are notified and possibly the RCMP.
