While NHL players and owners try to come up with a plan for a new hockey season, bar owners in Prince George are coming up with their own plan.

Westwood Pub Owner Nathan Coole says a portion of his bar's revenue is generated by fans coming to watch hockey games.

"I'd say on a weekly basis maybe 25 to 30 percent,  and usually where it worked is on your off nights, say a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, we'd have people coming in for drinks and dinner just to watch the game," said Coole.

Coole says while hockey does increase profits, bar owners try to find other ways to attract fans.

He says they may have to put more focus on professional football until a hockey deal is made.
