NewsPrince George Celebrates BC Rivers Day a Week Early
Prince George residents will help kick off BC Rivers Day celebrations a week early tomorrow. Organizer Patti Gerhardi says the annual event celebrates living and working near rivers. "Part of the event is how we as individuals can contribute to better our environment, including our waterways, and so we have lots of educational booths that are interactive, and they each year have new and greater ideas." In addition to three musical acts, there will be children's activities, including face painting and a fish pond. The event has been planned a week before other celebrations to take advantage of summer-like weather. The BC Rivers Day Music Festival runs from noon to four tomorrow at Fort George Park.
