NewsNew Report Card Program Approved at Centre For Learning Alternatives
A new report card format has been approved for School District 57's Centre for Learning Alternatives. At last night's board meeting, trustees approved a pilot for the web-based program that will track students learning outcomes. Learning Centre Teacher Lisa Horswell says this gives students a more visual way of seeing their progress. "We have to very specific in ways that they can achieve their behavioural goals," says Horswell, "and so this gives them an opportunity to actually see where they're at in one term of the reporting system and at the end of the reporting system they can see their progress" Horswell says the online report card system also helps build students self-esteem. She says this type of program could be apapted to all schools throughout School District 57. Most Viewed Stories
