About 475 Prince George residents decked themselves out in pink and took part in the Run for the Cure on Sunday.

In addition to running or walking the five or one kilometre route, participants raised over $84-thousand.

Co-Run Director Renee McCloskey says she is pleased with the outcome, especially given the poor weather.

"The rain didn't seem to deter anybody.  Everyone on site was having a great time.  There was some fantastic outfits and the way people got themselves dressed up was fantastic.  I mean, people had their dogs dressed in pink."

A total of $3.15-million dollars has been raised province-wide through fundraisers held at eight different sites.

The money will support initiatives in breast cancer prevention, early detection, treatment and research in BC.
