NewsFire Prevention Week Time to Check Smoke Alarms
"Have 2 Ways Out" is the main message during Fire Prevention Week. People are encouraged to look at fire escape plans with their families so they know what to do if a fire breaks out. Chief Fire Prevention Officer Dennis Perrault says it's also important to make sure children know two ways to get out of a burning home. "Very important to practice that, its also very important to have working smoke alarms in your home," says Perrault, "before you do the plan make sure smoke alarms are working properly and that the kids are aware of what the sound is and what they are expected to do when they hear that sound." Perrault says fire fighters will be handing out fire tips and information to grades one through three students at Prince George schools during fire prevention week. Also they will be holding a Fire Safety Day at Home Depot on Saturday. Most Viewed Stories
