Children and families in Prince George now have a new place to play.  An all-inclusive playground at Duchess Park was officially opened up today, giving disabled children a place to have fun.  Fortis BC donated $25,000 towards the park and Distribution Manager Pat Flack says this is one of many volunteer efforts the company does around the province.

"An employee brings forward a project and then the employees in that area vote on it, and say would you actively take part and in this case, this park was brought forward by one of our employees" says Flack, "and the employees supported a day of volunteering towards developing the park."

Prince George Mayor Shari Green says the new playground will help all families throughout the city.

"And to have it as an accesible playground for children who have disabilities is so important for so many people in this community," says Green, "as a way for their kids to play with everyone around them in a safe way."

The all-inclusive playground is the third part of the Duchess Park Implementation Plan. Green says other parts of the plan in the future will include an all weather sports field and an amphitheater.
