Over 20 protestors gathered in downtown Prince George Tuesday afternoon as final Joint Review Panel hearings for the Northern Gateway Pipeline got underway.

Ann Ketlo says she hopes to send a clear message to BC's Premier and the Prime Minister that the Nadleh Whut'en First Nation does not support the pipeline.

She says she is pleased to see people who are not members of area First Nations have joined the protest.

"We welcome all of the support and we're very very grateful for the non-Natives that have come out and stood beside us as well, because like I said everyone has an opinion on this, and it's no."

Inside, the Province of BC was the first intervenor to speak in the hearings.

They questioned Enbridge's geo-hazard mapping team.

The Province asked, "Are you telling me that Northern Gateway would be willing to map hazardous, and/or is planning to map hazardous to the height of land on each side of the study corridor then?"

Enbridge responded with, "We will map hazards, we will follow the hazards back up hill, as far as it's required in individual circumstances."

Several First Nations and Skeena-Bulkley Valley NDP MP Nathan Cullen are registered to speak during the hearings.

The hearings will run until October 19th at the Columbus Community Centre and at the Ramada from October 29th to November 9th.
