Prince George RCMP expect the intersection of Highway 97 and 15th avenue in Prine George to be closed for hours after a fatal pedestrian collision this morning.  Just after ten RCMP arrived on scene to the crash that involved one pedestrian and a tractor trailer unit.  RCMP Spokesperson Corporal Craig Douglass says the investigation into what caused the accident is underway.

"The coroner has been called, a number of different agencies that need to be informed of this have been called," says Douglass, "and certainly a priority will be determining who this person is and notifying next of kin."

Douglass says drivers are asked to avoid the area of Highway 97 and 15th Avenue as police investigate the crash.  Detours are set up in the area to keep traffic flowing.
