Police are releasing more details on the fatal pedestrian collision with a chip truck on Monday.

Prince George RCMP say just after 10am, a south bound truck was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Highway 97 and 15th Avenue.

It then proceeded when the light turned green, and moments later RCMP received a report of a pedestrian that had been struck.

The pedestrian has been identified as 68 year old Miklas Bognar.

Police say physical evidence at the scene indicates Bognar was not struck by the front of the truck, and physical tests have confirmed the truck could not have been going more than 24km/h.

No charges are being considered against the driver of the truck.

The investigation has now been handed over to the BC Coroners Service.
