NewsHST Transition Looms for PG Businesses
Prince George businesses will soon be getting ready for the return to provincial sales tax at the end of March. The provincial government recently announced several resources being made available to assist in the transition away from HST. Prince George Chamber of Commerce CEO Jennifer Brandle-McCall says for those businesses which have started operations since the introduction of the HST it will be even more difficult. "They've only ever existed under the HST which has been a less cumbersome tax system for them. The businesses that are new to our area really defeintely need to get on top of this right away and give themselves a lot of time to prepare," said Brandle-McCall. She says for others with Christmas just around the corner, it will likely be the New Year before any real attention is paid to making the tax switch. Most Viewed Stories
