As hearings for the Northern Gateway Pipeline make their way through Prince George, a new learning resource about pipelines has been developed by the BC Teachers Federation.  The resource called "What we Stand to Lose" explains the effects and impacts oil pipelines have had on ecosytems.  District Teachers Association President Matt Pearce says while he has not heard of any teachers in Prince George using the resource, it is made available to all teachers.

"The BCTF has a staff that does develope new resources for teachers to use on all sorts of subjects and all sorts of cirriculums," says Pearce, "ranging from language arts to mathmatics and social studies that sort of research division does that and are free to use them and adapt them in whichever way they choose."

Pearce says the pipeline resources have been designed for secondary level social studies classes.  He hopes if teachers do use the lesson plan, they will present both sides of the issue.
