The University of Northern British Columbia has reached a tentative agreement with the union that represents 350 support staff.

Management at UNBC worked closely with CUPE Local 3799 to arrive at the proposed agreement Tuesday.

University spokeswoman Alyson Gourley-Cramer says the four-year deal is retro-active to July 1, 2010.

"It contains no wage hikes in the first two years, two per cent increases in both the third and fourth years and plus additional vacation to long-service employees."

UNBC management and CUPE leaders will recommend acceptance of the agreement next week.

Some job action occurred leading up to the proposed agreement, including an overtime ban, which has now been cancelled.
