Prince George will welcome people from throughout northern BC in the tourism sector when it hosts the Northern BC Tourism Association conference and AGM next week.

CEO Anthony Everett says the conference will be held this Sunday to Tuesday at the Civic Centre.

"Northern British Columbia Tourism every year has a conference and AGM held in the fall, and this is really to get communities and businesses that are involved in tourism across northern BC to come together. To learn about the sector, and things that they can do to improve their business, and get engaged with the tourism industry in northern BC."

Everett says this year will focus on things businesses can do to grow their business, the labour market challenges, and providing inspiration with their key note speakers.

The speakers include Vice President of the Canadian Tourism Commission Greg Klassen, Minister of Jobs, Tourism, and Skills Training Pat Bell, and official opposition critic for tourism Spencer Chandra Herbert.

The conference includes sessions on professional development, sport tourism, project funding, and cultural tourism.
