NewsVanderhoof Finishes Arena Upgrades
New dasher boards, lighting and insulation have been installed at the Vanderhoof Arena. $136,000 dollars was spent on the dasher boards with half of the costs coming from the Nechako-Kitimat Development Fund. Mayor Gerry Thiessen says a new Zamboni has also been purchased. "Zambonis are always something that are quite expensive and have a limited shelf life," says Thiessen, "we used the last Zamboni past its best option date and that was close to a hundred thousand dollars." Thiessen says the dasher boards will last 30 years at the arena and the Zamboni should last 10 years. A Regional District of Bulkley Nechako grant was used to pay for half of the lighting and insulation. Most Viewed Stories
