Of the 89 Ike Barber Transfer Scholarships handed out this year, four went to students at the College of New Caledonia.  The scholarship is awarded to students who have completed two years of undergraduate studies and are transfering to complete their degrees.  CNC Transfer Student Morgan Bruintjes says she received $5,000 to transfer to UNBC's biology program.

"This one is a really big one for transfering and it's really helpful for students if they do not live at home to help them along during the school year," says Bruintjes, "just to help pay for tuition and living costs and things like that."

Bruintjes says the scholarship is based on strong grades and community volunteering.  She says scholarships like these are great funding resources students can access.
