NewsCity Will Not Purchase The One-Man Pothole Patcher
The City of Prince George has chosen not to purchase the Python Pothole Patch Truck. The city got a demonstration of the machine back in June. Manager of Transportation Al Clark says while it had its advantages, there were more disadvantages. "We did the demo, and there were some concerns we had with respect to its operation function. We are totally on board for the concept, but we feel that there are some issues that need to be refined, and perhaps a second generation machine would address those." Clark says the city could purchase a second or third generation of the machine once the issues with it are ironed out. The advantage of the Python is it's a one person operation, where the operator works inside the vehicle and not out in traffic, and there's less physical demand in a safer work environment.
