Employees at several Prince George Save-On-Foods stores are among thousands across the province entering into bargaining with management for a new contract.

United Food and Commerical Workers Union Local 15-18 spokeswoman Kim Novak says talks have been underway for several days even though their current contract doesn't expire until March.

"Job security is a big one, a living wage for all employees, and equality among the membership. We need to bring our contract to a place where all members have the opportunity to make a living wage, and capture the hours that they need to sustain that living wage."

Novak says both sides are currently outlining concerns and points they would like to see addressed during collective bargainaing as she adds the hope is to allow for plenty of time to get a good deal done.
