A nickel deposit near Fort St. James has been sitting mostly dormant for the past several months as the site's owners mull their options.

Fort St. James Nickel continues to search for a suitable partner for its Kilometre 26 project.

But the company's Nick Daniel says while there have been plenty of discussions, potential investors seem to want further evidence of a solid deposit before buying in.

"A lot of these larger-style companies that we're targeting would prefer that a junior company like ourselves take some of the risk out of it. By that I mean go ahead and drill another 10, 15 holes, go further to proving that it is what we think it is."

But Daniel says the company's resources are very thin at the moment and shareholders are hesitant to go forward with any major spending.

Whether further testing goes ahead sooner or later, Daniel says he remains confident the area has a very solid nickel cache.
