NewsGreen Party Looking for Candidates in PG
The BC Green Party is actively looking for candidates to run in both Prince George ridings in May's provincial election. There are still none lined up in either Prince George riding, but leader Jane Sterk says there are local teams working on that right now. "Professional people, people that have a reputation in the community. It would be great if we could get someone from UNBC, or someone from the business community. They would be great candidates for us." Sterk is hoping to be able to have a real breakthrough this go around with a goal of winning four or five seats. As for the North, she is hoping to keep the share of the vote seen in 2009 at the least, with a goal of doubling that total. Last election, the Greens took just over seven percent of the vote in Prince George-Mackenzie and six point eight percent in Prince George-Valemount. Most Viewed Stories
