NewsFive Kids From PG Family UNBC Graduates
As over 750 students graduate from UNBC today, one of those students will be the fifth child in one family to graduate from the university. Tamara Callahan is graduating with a degree in Nursing, after her four other siblings graduated from UNBC over the past eleven years. Her brother Dennis was the first of the Callahan family to graduate in 2001, and he says since his graduation the university has grown a lot. "I think the school continues to grow and the northern medical program is fantastic evidence of the ability of the school to grow, and the work that everybody's doing up here to continue to serve the needs of the north." Dennis and Tamara's parents Richard and Helen originally signed a petition in 1988 for creating a northern B.C. university, not knowing all five of their children would later graduate from it.
