NewsNorth Shows Continued Strong Housing Sales
Despite a large drop in Lower Mainland home sales, the North continues to show improvement. In May, the North saw a 2.3% rise in overall sale price compared to the same month a year ago while the overall total volume of sales has risen a whopping 22%. "The Interior and the North we're seeing a fairly consistent rising trend that we've seen now for several months and the North probably has been the most resilient market in the province since the recession in 2008," said Cameron Muir with the BC Real Estate Association. Muir says a sluggish Vancouver market has dragged down the provincial average with prices dropping 13%. Only the Kootenays had a greater rise in sales volume than the North. Most Viewed Stories
