NewsSowchea School Sees Success in Safe and Seen Program
Students at Sowchea Elementary School in Fort St. James are continuing to help make students safe and seen. Grade six and seven students have been handing out reflective bracelets for students to wear to be visible to motorists. Grade Seven Student Sammy Roessler says so far this year they have handed out over 2,000 bracelets. "We started at the beginning of December and we have seen lots of kids wearing them and there's been lots of adults have been wearing them too." says Rossler. Roessler says the "Be Safe Be Seen" program was created in honour of Nolan Alexis. Alexis was a grade 6 student in Fort St. James who was killed by a vehicle while crossing a dark and busy highway last year. Most Viewed Stories
