NewsFive Prince George Search and Rescue Volunteers Celebrate 30 years of Service
Five Prince George Search and Rescue volunteers have been recognized for their 30 years of service. As volunteers they have worked as search managers, assisted with other searches around the province and have educated the public on safety in the back country. Volunteer Jeff Smedley has been with search and rescue for 30 years and says he enjoys the chance to help people. "When there's a need it gets me out and into places I've never been to," says Smedley, "but you get that chance to help someone when they need a hand." Smedley says through Prince George Search and Rescue he's taught many search managers across the province. He says its incredible to see the amount of time and resources volunteers put into finding missing people. Most Viewed Stories
