A block of Quince Street that was cordoned off this morning has now been cleared.

Prince George RCMP responded to a call about a suspicious device in the driveway of a residence on the 21 hundred block.

The RCMP Explosive Device Unit was brought in, and it was determined that while the object contained material that could make up a bomb, it was not functional.

RCMP say it was similar to a pipe bomb.

While people in the area were evacuated, they have now returned to their homes.
