Prince George, B.C.

A Prince George based Enbridge executive says the pipeline company still has plenty of work to do to educate the public on the reality of the proposed Northern Gateway project.

Janet Holder spoke in front of the Prince George Chamber of Commerce this week and also highlighted the economic impacts the project would have for B.C. and the entire county.

Of all G8 countries, Canada leads in exports, and our biggest export happens to be oil with the vast majority heading to only one customer, the United States.

"From an accountant's point of view, having only one customer for your number one export, really is not in the nation's best interest."

Holder also says the impact to B.C. will be huge long after construction is complete with over 500 permanent jobs throughout the North, many in Prince George.

She says Enbridge will soon be opening a new office in Prince George with a public opening expected in the near future.
