The amount of money raised during the fourth annual Prince George Firefighters Cycle Tour is still being tallied.

Participant Kelly Henderson says the preliminary total for funds raised is around the $5,000 mark.

"We all had a really good time.  We were able to raise some money for the BC Professional Firefighters Burn Fund and we've established some great contacts in our community that hopefully we can expand upon next year."

Henderson, another firefighter and a member of the public cycled from Prince George to Jasper last week.

The four day tour represents a departure from the two day tour to Quesnel and back in previous years.

The tour has raised over $20,000 over the past three years.
