The Mayor of Burns Lake is trying to help Prince George residents deal with the aftermath of a sawmill fire similar to a fire in his community in January.

Luke Strimbold is part of a group trying to connect survivors of the Babine Forest Products Mill fire with those who survived the Lakeland Mills Blaze.

"One of the things we are working on is connecting the employees and getting them together to help heal and tell each other their stories. It is a healing process to communicate with one another. There is a list up here in Burns Lake and there is already 15 employees signed up to help employees at Lakeland."

Strimbold says efforts are being made to help Prince George just as residents helped Burns Lake in January.

The investigations into what caused both mill fires are still ongoing.
