A 16-year old is in critical condition in Prince George hospital after an early morning crash just east of the Yellowhead Bridge.

Just after 5:00am police received a number of calls about a westbound car that had gone over the embankment.

The Hyundai Accent went over a cement barrier just before the bridge tumbling more than 100 metres away from the highway.

Police say speed and alcohol are likely factors in the single vehicle crash.

After a search of the area it was determined the driver, who was unlicensed, was the lone occupant of the vehicle and no one else was injured.
