Students in School District 57 will be getting a two week spring break next school year.

The calendar committee made up of board trustees and partner groups have decided to give students two weeks off instead of the typical one.

Superintendent Brian Pepper says the decision was based on when Easter falls in the calendar.

"There would be a possibility, assuming the board and the various school partner groups, were able to agree that we would extend that one week spring break into a two week spring break."

Pepper says school board trustees have approved March 18 to the 29th for spring break 2013.

He says the calendar committee reviews every year when to give students time off for spring break.
