A Prince George resident involved in helping rescue people after the Lakeland Mills explosion is speaking out.

Jesse Cody was parked at 5th and Central when the explosion occurred, lighting up the sky and shaking his car.

He says he has helped out in accidents before and immediately rushed to the scene.

"Eventually some crews arrived.  Once they arrived, actually an officer asked me to leave, told me it was too dangerous and before I could, I saw a couple of guys that were badly [burned], so I helped get them to an ambulance."

Cody says he teamed up with uninjured mill workers to assist others in tracking down emergency services.

He says while he has seen accidents before, he has never witnessed a disaster of this magnitude.
